Tybee 500 Endurance Catamaran Race
Adventure Online TV Coverage of the 2008 Race
ROCKLEDGE, FL (June 16, 2008) – The Tybee 500 (www.Tybee500.com) is one the most unique and challenging endurance races a competitor can undertake. Starting in the Florida Keys, sailors face six consecutive days of open ocean racing in two person fully exposed beach catamarans. Sailing in legs that are in some cases over 100 miles per day, teams face fierce competition, breakdowns, extreme weather, as well as their own personal limits as they race to Tybee Island Georgia 500 miles away. Adventure Online TV’s 11 part mini-episode series follows two of the youngest sailors, Jared Sonnenklar (19) and Collin Page (17), who as a result of last minute unexpected events choose to sail together, having never met before.
