65.2 eh?

I think a lot of us were think something closer to the F18 rating.

Oh I get it, April Fools right? 😛

The alternative view is

The boat was never slow....

In B 2/3

FX1 70.4
Nacra F17 68.0
F16 67.5

The F17 and F16 are level rated in moderate breeze!

the F18's are much quicker at 63.9

The A class is in the middle at 65.6

F18's should rate faster than A's becuase they have chutes.

Does answer the age old question. The Hobie Tiger is the fastest F18. How else can you explain the one design Tiger rating.

Large sail plan with no minimum weight limit. The F18 rules limit sail area based on crew weight.

Makes sense, we never raced One design when I had a tiger so didn't realise there was no minimum crew weight.

There is a crew weight - what Mike is saying is that there is not the F18 weight limit on sail plan use. Teams well under 308 lbs. are permitted to use the large (only) sail plan under Hobie class rules. Portsmouth Committee kept a slightly faster number to accomodate teams that do Portsmouth events or Qualifiers sailing under the Hobie rules. Confusing, IMO - cross the line first on a Tiger and lose to the F18 right behind you? <img src=

But it's only once a year.
