[#13525]

Johnny and Charlie are leading the Tornado class at the Princessa Spophia in Spain. Looks like all the top teams are there.

Sorry, but I seemed to have left my Spanish translator and dictionary in my other pants.

Can you give us a direct link to the results/pictures (if any?) Thanks!

That's what happens when they don't make kids take Latin in school anymore.
Just click on the link to the site, then click on "Resultados" at the left, and then click on Tornado in the dropdown.
I don't see any photos at the site yet.

Mary:

It might amaze you to know that I did indeed take Latin for two years in middle school.. and hated every minute of it!

Thanks!

I think it's amo, amas, amat, amamus, amateus, amaran. But that was 49 years ago in eighth grade when I was more interested in amandering.

Hmmm. Now that I think about it, I probably have it mixed up with Spanish. Oh, well.

Thanks! I'm not very good at navigating through web sites even in English.

Actually it's veni, vidi, vici.

How about ubi est bubula - translate that one and I'll take you back to the 80s when I had Latin. They called me Prudens.

ps - rock on USA!

Actually, enrollments in Latin at both High School and College levels are increasing. Enrollment in Latin at 2 and 4 year colleges has increased 14% from 1998 to 2002.

sycho15, I thought my dad was the only one who used that expression (and he uses it a lot).
I always liked vidi, vici, vene better (gives it a slightly different connotation)

You may already be aware, but the following site will translate blocks of text or complete web sites. Might want to try it if you want to know what is going on.... http://world.altavista.com/
