Mary and Rick, the people who run this site can answer that much better than I, but it would help to know what city you are in. Rick, particularly, is a genuine guru, the real deal.

A good place to start would be on the wave forum. Click on the

main index

at the top of this page. The IWCA (International Wave Class Association) is a little over half way down.

But don't be a stranger here! We are all interested in new sailors, how well they develope, and especially if they are having any problems. We have more information and good advice than anybody would ever want to hear! <img src=

Enter some regattas, read the rules, hang out and listen to other sailors, ask for help rigging your boat, ask a lot of questions (even dumb ones), HAVE FUN!!

We have a pretty active fleet of Waves in Florida and the east coast of the USA.
SUggest going to www.waveclass.org and check out the schedules.

I will be putting on a Wave Only seminar the weekend before the Nationals in Key Largo. In the Nationals you would still qualify as Youth. There we have trophies for Open, Masters, Women and Youth.

We will be sailing in Lake Eustis this fall as well.
Also check the Events Schedule on our main pages www.catsailor.com

And send me an email rick@catsailor.com and I will add you to our mailing list.
See ya,
Rick

thanks guys! If I want to do the Wave Nationals in Key Largo, is there any sort of pre-qualification or do I sign up and show up? I'll definitely try to find some regattas nearby and when I get the chance, get involved in the Space Coast Catamaran Association. I'll be getting a H16 pretty soon, just trying to find a good deal first. I'll definitely be keeping my Wave though. I wonder which one I'll end up liking more... haha.

Rick - Although the Wave Nationals sound like a blast, I don't think I'd be able to come to your seminar right before. I have school that entire week before, and my high school is pretty intense academically (easy to get behind!). I'll play it by ear though. I'd love to come to one of your semiars though. They sound very useful and informative! Do you have a calendar for future seminars?

Are you in Ohio or Florida now?

thanks everyone for the support!

Will,

The Wave Nationals are a

come one, come all

kind of event and is a very welcoming class. If I had more vacation time during the year, this event would be very high on my list to participate because the competition and location is top notch.

We will be in Ohio until October sometime. Send me an email and I will include you on all the mailings about the Wave Class.

You certainly do not want to miss the Nationals. If you want to come to the Seminar, I can write you an excuse! <img src=

Performance Sail & Sport http://www.performancesailandsport.com/index.html has Hobie Wave races every Thursday night and a High School Sailing Program (notice the link on the left side).

Performance is located 200 yds north of Pineda Causeway on U.S. 1 between Melbourne and Rockledge. Should take you about 50 minutes from Orlando.

When you call you can speak with Scott Hubel. 321.253.3737
