Okay, I figured it out. In your personal information at
My Home
if you fill in your birthdate, there is a box right beneath it to check if you want it to show in your profile that others view. If you don't check that box, you won't get a cake next to your name on your birthday. <img src=

In your visible profile, by the way, it doesn't show the year of your birth, just the day and month. I s'pose a lot of people don't want everyone knowing how old they are. <img src=

That will give you guys something else to play with when you get bored trading stars. <img src=

P.S. After you change the information in your personal preferences, you have to go down to the bottom of that page and click
Submit,
in order to update the profile and make the changes work.
I have a feeling a lot of us will have cakes by our names tomorrow.
That cake icon looks like a good idea to me. After all it's not every day you turn 39. As a matter of fact for me it only happens once a year.
