I have done it now. You will not believe it but I finally gave in and bought a Hobie 16. I have been working on improving the design of new racing catamarans for years now and it's time for me to concentrate on becoming a better sailor and racer myself. The more I thought about how to achieve this goal the more it became clear that I needed to start racing in a competitive one-design class that would force me to master the fundamentals.
I have a lot of work to do before the Europeans in August. My goal is to make the Gold fleet but I may be dreaming.
