Do you discuss Trimaran questions on this forum as well as Catamarans? If not, is there another forum for Trimarans? I am looking for some comments on 20' - 30' Trimarans.

i mention my 14' weta here on occasion and no one seems to mind

having said that for technical questions and answers you are probably going to get more detailed responses from the multihull forum of boatdesign.net

can you get that weta all the way up on one hull. it kind of looks like they are there just for stability.

I think the "beach trimarans" are a natural part of the beachcat world. Some cool boats, even if they do carry around an extra hull, good to have a spare. 👿

no you can't

the floats would need to be double the size to provide the buoyancy, which would make them too heavy for solo assembly

the demountable beam system would also need to be bigger and beefier

plus for control it would need dual rudders

think of it as a skiff with racks that doesn't dig in and flip

there is a guy at our beach with a Windrider! He use to be a cat sailor, he got tired of worrying about flipping!

i am currently assembling a trimaran out of a 20' flying scott hull, a 15' catamaran with an 18 prindle mast and sails.
