Fun Regatta in Sarasota Bay – Buzelli 2026
Nick Lovisa from SSS organized a fantastic Nacra 15 regatta. Mix of foiling and non-foiling fleet.
Onboard video from one race:
Great job!
I'm tempted to say something with some support of the monohull sailors being 'on the race course,' but you know how foilers are..... they're not an easy balancing act.
Been there... I've been very tempted to yell at other boaters who're just trying to have a little fun on a nice day on the water and didn't realize that they'd be in the middle of a fleet of adrenal-crazed cat racers scorching very close by about until right at the last moments.
I've been in the exact opposing predicament while sailing on my 33 ft mono, many miles offshore, unknowingly sailing in the path of a big ocean-powerboat race (40'-50' multi-engined super/turbo-charged cats and BIG Cigarettes, etc.). They were upon us in a flash, no time to evade. Must have been a point-to-point race. Talk about thunder alley! It was impressive!
Anyway, sailing obstacles have navigable rights, too.
