New Nacra 20, street legal & 380 lbs.
The Nacra 20 Carbon and Nacra 20 FCS are amazing beasts, but they are over 10 feet wide, so disassembly or tilt trailer is needed to hit the road for regattas.
Now there is a USA road legal version with straight boards and all carbon hulls available. A classic Nacra/Inter 20 on a high tech diet.

“The concept behind the boat is a cost-effective 20′ beach catamaran for buoy and distance sailing — designed for two people, whether for recreational sailing, course racing or inshore/coastal distance events.
It features a deck-sweeper mainsail, high-aspect jib, and full radial-cut gennaker.
Hulls are built from glass-foam sandwich FRP epoxy with CNC-milled tooling for precision and low weight.
Foils are based on the F18 Evolution, sharing the same high-aspect carbon rudders and daggerboards.”
How much?
At East Coast Sailboats they are offering "Ambassador Pricing" to get the first ten boats imported
I'm hearing $33,500 ready to sail, no trailer. Of course there are some upgrades and options available like anything. Depending on when, and where it is ordered from, there could be some tarrifs too.
That is the same as current pricing for the Nacra F18 Evolution. I was surprised to hear the new 20 was under $40K.
Looks like a great boat for larger skippers and crew.
Might seem like a lot for those of us that have never bought a brand new catamaran. But comparing what can be bought for similar money in general recreational boating puts things in perspective.
30-40k just gets a run of the mill fishing or pontoon boat. Or a nice side by side trail buggy.

Right! One must have his/her priorities always in mind!
But it's not just the catamaran, though a fast nimble cat is far more fun than a, um, fat, slow cat (in my presumptuous opinion 🤣 ). It's the people who sail cats that really help make the whole cat-ownership/sailing so much fun and rewarding.
I can't imagine achieving that kind of fun, comradery and friendships with a side-by-side or fishing boat.
Step 1 - win lottery
Step 2 - buy the new NACRA
Seems like a really nice boat. I had an Inter/NACRA 20 and for sailing in the waters off Ventucky, there was always the wave slap on the rear beam, very un-nerving and always thinking what that pressure was doing to the bolts that held the beam on. It appears that they have addressed that with the new hull design..
But given the choice, the new 570 looks pretty sweet too and less to worry about when getting close to the beach..
How much is it going to cost me? It all comes to that for me at the moment before I act.
Looks like a solid discussion so far, the new Nacra 20 definitely has people excited, and for good reason. Even at that price point, it really feels like you’re getting a purpose-built performance machine rather than just another recreational boat. The road-legal width and the lighter carbon build make it way more practical for traveling sailors too. And honestly, seeing how the design tweaks address old issues like beam slap shows that Nacra actually listened to longtime sailors. For anyone who wants real speed without diving into full foiling complexity, this seems like a pretty compelling option.
Totally agree. The new Nacra 20 feels like a real step forward, not just a flashy update. The lighter carbon build and road-legal width make it much more practical, and it’s great to see they actually listened to feedback on things like beam slap. For sailors who want serious performance without the hassle of full foiling, it looks like a very solid option.Posted by: @AnonymousLooks like a solid discussion so far, the new Nacra 20 definitely has people excited, and for good reason.
