I went down during hurricane earl and put in at the boat ramp on the sound side of folly beach. Cruised down south and got to the ocean side, parked the boat on the beach. Incredible conditions and wave sailing with surfers. Put in early and be able to tack well right off the bat to where you don't go into the bridge. I think you can keep the boat on the beach for 12 hours without a permit. Have fun!

Have Fun! Let me know where you end up putting in. I grew up in Greenville and we still go to DeBordieu, but I would love to sail around the harbor. I wonder if they will let you beach at Ft Sumter??
