Im moving to Casper, Wy from chicago. Im curious if there are any beach cats in that area, where I will be able to sail, and possibly a good cat for me to go out by myself if I cant get on a crew out there. I am thinking of a Nacra 5.0 to be able to sail solo. I have one seasons experience on Lake Michigan with an Inter 20.
I don't know about closer to Casper but our sailing group just came back from Pinedale,WY at the Fremont Lake's Little Americas Cup regatta. I wasn't able to go but they love it. It a bit of drive from Casper I'm sure but if you were making a weekend o fit it wouldn't be bad. And a bit farther West of there straddling the Utah Idaho border is Bear Lake. Water doesn't get much above 60 but in the summer when it's 90 out it's quite nice. It has almost Carbean blue water and plenty of sandy beach.
