Hello,

I haven't been able to find any organized group sailing/racing catamarans in Seattle, Wa. Just wondering if anyone has any info on a yacht club/org that is active anywhere near Seattle. I don't own a boat currently but would be willing to crew for the time being.

Thanks!

There is Sand Point at

Not sure how beachcat friendly they are but it looks like they have a "Hobie 101" course so it looks promising. Anyway the folks there should know the local sailing scene.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Hey, thanks for the pointer to Sail Sand Point. I sail there. They do have some Hobie 16s and some Waves. If anyone in the Seattle area is interested in after work or weekend sailing, send me a message. Also see the "Discussion Group" for Hobie sailing I started on Sail Sand Point's facebook page.

I live in Portland and have ran into the same problem. I know there are a few cats in the area but nothing organized. A few regattas host Portsmouth fleets to race, but I need some more on water instruction on how to race my Prindle. Also this weekend is the Al Morris Regatta at Yale lake in Southern Washington, which is hosting portsmouth. I was thinking about going but am not quite ready yet.
