[#2096]

I have raced a variety of monohull sailboats ranging from a Catalina 22 to a Cal 33. After sailing in two regattas with a friend on his Hobie 16, I am hooked on catamarans.

So, I am looking to find a catamaran for racing around the Dallas area. I prefer one design racing over handicap, so I would like to find out what others are sailing in the area. When I sailed in the Grapevine YC Mayors cup there were 2 Hobie 20s and 1 Hobie 16.

F18 would be great, but I don't see any sailing around here. Plus it would break the bank. I am trying to stay under 5k.

U.S. Portsmouth rating for Tornado Sport (2 traps), 59 & 55.5 in high winds. F-18 is 62.4 & 59.5 in high winds. The higher number means slower boat. Have a Marstrom "T" for sale with spin. Pete
