I have a 1975 hobie 16 and I'm installing the trapeze rigging. I need to know if, on the older models, the trapeze wires attach to the same D ring as the forestay and shrouds? All the diagrams I've seen have seem to have two rings but my mast seem to only have the hole for one.

The mast tang (hound) was changed sometime after '75 to the current with an extra hole above to attach a shackle for double trapeze wires.

One set (single) of trapeze wires will work with your set up. You can hang a smaller shackle, on each side, if you are installing a double trapeze.

How do you attach the smaller shackle? Drill thru the mast and use a thru bolt?

flatlander is referring to hanging the smaller shackles on either side of the main shackle that attaches the forestay and shrouds.
