i have a 1982 hobiecat 16 and am almost finished restoring it. i would like to replace the old masthead and want to know if the newer style mastheads fit on the old mast that do not have a comptip. thanx for any help.

Yeah, it fits. Believe the old style masthead fits inside the (aluminum) mast extrusion. The new style fits over the top and is riveted in place.

yeah the new mast heads fits but the deal with comp tip you should look if its legal where you are because i think its not race legal in australia.
