According to Hobie 16 Technical info. www.cat44.com/hobie-16-technical-info.htm, center tramp lacing line 1/4 inch, 19 feet long I bought 23 feet and I am 6 gromets short , gap between halfs is 4 inches. Rear lacing calls for 2, 15 foot lines and this is a shorter distence, Is it realey 19 feet or what might have happend.

Was the tramp double grommeted? That will eat up line as you've got twice as many holes to string it through.

26 gromets, tramp stamped 1978, In my younger days I bought a new 18 about 1990 I traded a snowmobile for this 16 with trailor, huls and tramp fram only all other parts were stored inside sence 1991. So I am trying to put this back together.

It's a mystery. Since it looks like you're going to have to buy a longer piece of line, double grommet the center of the tramp and buy enough line to lace them up.
