I'm interested in buying a Hobie 14, but there is no dolphin striker on the one I am looking at. I read that i should not hike out on the trapeeze unless the boat has a dolphin striker correct? How easily could i install one if i get a Hobie 14 that doens't have them, so that i can hike out? Any suggestions would help.

Thanks
Noah

The cable dolphin striker from Murray's is pretty easy to add. I had trouble with the eye bolts bending though. I don't think adding a solid one would be that difficult to do either. If I were to do it again that is the route I would take.

Adding a real dolphin striker isn't that difficult. You have to change the step and get all the missing bits, but it's not that big of deal. Call your local Hobie Dealer and they can guide you througt the process.
