Good morning all!

Had the 14 in the water the other day. What a blast!! What have I been doing sailing a monohull for all of these years?

I am converted.

I did notice a few performance issues while on the water the other day. Nothing big, just have a few repairs to make.

One problem I had is that the port side rudder popped up often while under speed.

There is a mysterious hole in the top of the rudder assembely and it looks as if something belongs there. The holes on both rudder assemblies are empty. I have attached a photo.

Can someone tell me what goes in here, and what it does? THanks!

That is just a rivit hole and I know of nothing that goes into it.

In relation to your rudders popping up, your cams are set a hair to loose and need to be tightend. There is another thread on here about that also.

A pin is pressed into that hole that catches the lockdown cam. Check you other side to see if it has one. I just listed a brand new casting just like that on ebay today cheap if you need one. Left side. (I know, buy an ad... but I am trying to help the guy out)
