how old is my hobie 16, its 29,000 sail no?
its got no year on the back beam

I'm not sure when HCE started putting plates on the rear beams. I've never seen a 16 with them, only Tigers.
Your hull serial number is probably engraved on the transom. The last few characters should have the two-digit model year
CCMB####M77C

A 29K sail number puts it in the mid-late 70's - maybe '76 or '77.

It's probably a mid-1978 boat, if that is the original sail. The hull numbers are the best reference. I tried making a sail number list a while back, but not enough people gave me sail and hull numbers, so I gave up.
