Hello to all,
I have the incredible fortune of becoming the new owner of a Hobie Cat for free! However, the hulls are in need of some repair and I have no experience working with fiberglass. The primary repair needs seem to be a crack in the front left hull, where it looks like someone might have put a heel through the hull. The other repair need is the entire right side of the right hull, which is soft, I believe I have heard it referred to as delamination. Any advice or thoughts are hugely appreciated!

Your

free

boat needs new(er) hulls.

The deck has already been epoxy injected for delam repair - you'd be repairing a repair.

Delamination is like cancer - caught early, when the tumors are small, the prognosis is good for a much longer life.

Yours is Stage IV - metasticized and terminal.

There's a reason you got the boat for free.
