Hello everyone.
My name is Karl Brogger, a few of us are re-activating an old fleet number in Mn, and using Lake Pepin, (on the Mississippi), as our home lake. The club has a regatta on the schedule for June 9/10 with D7. We have a few club events on the calender as well. Membership does not require the owning of a Hobie, (The regatta does), but is open to any owners of a beach cat. If any one is interested in joining feel free to give me a call at: 507.301.9019. Thanks,
Karl

Now you've made me feel guilty.

I consider myself exclusively a recreational sailor, but I always feel I'm letting down the sport when I ignore the local regattas. What can I say? -I just don't feel the need to display my testosterone. Tim Johnson tried twisting my arm a few times, to attend the Bald Eagle Fleet regattas, but I just never did.

I just seem to get a different thrill from sailing. I LIKE the speed, but not the race. Its the experiencing of the wind and weather, and the spray of water that thrills me. But even a gentle and steady breeze is a wonderful feeling. The most awe inspiring sails I've had, are the warm breezes on nights under a full moon. When doing this, the search for enlightment by Tibetan monks, pales in comparison.

Lake Pepin is in between Wabasha, and Red Wing on the Mississippi River. To those of you not interested in the racing aspect of being a member of a fleet we have a number of fun sails planned for the year. A warm up, knock the cobwebs and dust off the boat event May 19th. July 21st a

distance cruise

up to the north end of Lake Pepin, (14 miles). And August 24th-26th, a rally at the Apostle Islands. So the fleet isn't built around racing. I race every chance I get, but many aren't as apt to do so. It isn't for every one. I would have to check for sure, I believe we were planning a year membership to be around $25
