Restoring black mesh tramp ?
Tom,
I used an automotive vinyl dye (not paint) quite successfully on an old vinly tramp. I did this after I stripped the tramp of all contaminants (see previous posts "major restorations" for more details). It is holding up well. However, after a week of solid sailing, I had to touch up the area under the rear hiking straps. My original color was mustard/yellow and I dyed it black. In your case, staying with the original colour, you will have less of a problem. If the mesh tramps are vinyl as well (??) you should be happy with the result. Vinyl dyes can be found at autobody supply centers.
Good Luck,
Dave
