[#18050]

I just got a Hobie 16 yesterday, but have no idea how to rig the boat. only wires, like trap wire, shroud, bridle, forestay, are on, but nothing else. The guy i bought it from wasn't able to show me how to rig everything up because the mast base needs to be replaced (the only broken part).

i've tried to find a website that explains how, but can't find anything. any help is appreciated, thanks!

is the main traveler adjusted with a line or with the locking pins like the jib traveler? in the assembly manual on that site, they don't show anything about the main traveler, but on my H16 the traveler car runs freely. is it supposed to be like that?

Will,

The main sheet runs from the block that mounts on top of the main traveler car through the jamb cleat then through the traveler car and finally through the small S/S loop at the rear crossbar. There you tie a figure 8 knot. Letting out some line through the jamb cleat allows the traveler to move out. I am sure the picture of this will show up in the on-line manual. The main sheet then ends up doing two things, letting the boom/sail out and controlling the traveler.

Howard
