I just picked up my new 16 last weekend. If you're ever contemplating buying one. Do it! There such a difference. My new cat is a rocket compared to my 85'. Money well spent. Two of us picked it up and set it on the trailer. There wasn't a mast or sails, but it would still be a grunt with 4 people to pick up the old one.

Just finished my first regatta on my new 16.Highest finish ever in a division 7 regatta(2nd).Three out of the 7 races I was 1st to A mark. There was two other new boats in the regatta. The new boats seemed fast.
Make sure you tighten the nut that holds the ring for the downhaul on the goose neck. There has been some issues with these working loose.

Were you at Spririt Lake? Cause that's where I picked up the boat from Jim Sohn was nice enough to deliver it for me and save me the drive down to Des Moines from MN. And the cleat did come loose for the down haul on my boat too. The nut that holds the gooseneck came loose and I was lucky to have not lost all the parts. Also, one should adjust the angle of the jaws on the main sheet cleat, and trap lines before heading out. All this is a pain to take care of while on the water. You must have been racing B class if your were at Spirit lake. Slim Johnson/Kristen King took first, Jim Sohn and myself Second in A Fleet. Normaly I race B myself but had some rudder issues with the new boat so I ended up crewing.

Hi Tempo was $1300 more for the boat. I wanted to make it to Green Lake but had to catch up on some work that weekend, if it would've been a points race I wouldn't have missed it. I should be at Yankton and the divisionals in Des Moines.
