Right, my daughter-in-law took all the marbles and son Dave was 3rd. Very proud.

Oh man, I can feel the agony in the picture of that port tack right at the starting line! Like getting stuck on a railroad crossing and having the engine stall in front of an oncoming train...

Congrats Rick. One thing though. I read your book and there's nothing about DNA or genes in there... What are you holding back 😉

Is that Stan Woodruff? Caption says Jim Glanden. (sorry, I haven't figured out how to re-post the picture.)

And congratulations to Leah!

I don't think it is genes. Leah is my daughter-in-law. I do know what it is. Last year we got in over 90 series races during the winter months here in Key Largo. Dave, Leah and I butt heads the whole time.
Leah has only been sailing a few years. She was very timid at first, stay back from the starting line and even if she was on starboard and saw a boat coming near, she would tack.
So Dave and I kept prompting her and giving her tips for a year or two. Then she starting kicking our butts on a regular basis. We cut her off after that. <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

You might also note that there are a lot of Put-in-Bay names at the top of the list, i.e., Patrick Green, Mark Scarpelli, Ray Matuszak, and Steve Abbey.
Same deal in the summer at Put-in-Bay. This year we got in 68 series races, not counting regattas.
Sailors from those two areas are getting so much more time on the water sailing against the best sailors in the country.., you really start to get better.

It is definitely Jim Glanden from Delaware. He was last year's Masters Champ.
