Dave has one complete boat but no tramp and a worn out sail.

He also has a spare set of hulls, so he needs everything for that boat....beams, mast, rudders, etc.

He also has access to Hobie 14 masts. Question....is the H14 mast section the same as the Wave beams?

Do the cross bars have a reinforced bar inside? Ther are surely heavier than I had thought they would be.

I checked this out today and both beams are the exact section that is used for the 14 and Wave masts.

Therefore, a 14 mast could be used for the beams and another for the lower mast part on the Wave. I suspect that a 14 mast could actually be made into a perfect Wave mast if cut to the proper length.(not class legal of course...but who cares ?).

Having said that, don't give up on finding the correct parts at a reasonable cost, and nearby.

I'm sure many boats have been trashed with all the rental operations that use Waves.

The forward beam is not a mast section. The interior has a different profile. Much thicker walls. An oval shape inside. The mast section would bend under the mast loads. (Been there... during R&D days)

Thanks Matt, so is the rear beam a mast section? I am getting a 14 mast today and have secured some EPO rudders and cutaway(1986)castings, dont know what generation that is, but they fit! I do need some tiller arms, I will probably get class legal parts from Charlie at sail and ski connection(except mast). Jack, I still need the tramp and sail for Waters and Bill Hendix, so whenever you make that road trip again, dont forget me!

Yes. Mast and rear beam are the same as the H14 mast section.

Matt, thanks again for your help. I still have to spend alot of money with your company, so Im not going to bastardize/frankenboat it too much.
One other question, I noticed on my Wave mast top section that the luff track was missing. Is this a replacement part, and if so, was it glued? I did not see any rivet holes or anything, and the area where it was located was pretty clean, no glue or any remnants to speak of.
