Hi All,

Vic Mosquito with Spinnaker Sates , McCrae Cat Champs, and YV Cat champs at McCrae 19th and 20th Nov. Those doing the Spin States will have their own division doing windward/returns. The rest of us will be on triangles as usual. Entry includes dinner Sat night and brekky on Sun morning for entrants. Dinner is also available for family/friends. $15.00 Adults, $7.50 Kids. Details at this link http://www.mccraeyc.com.au You can enter & pay online to avoid the queue on Sat morning via a link from McCrae website or the YV calendar. If you haven’t done this one before… make the trip. It’s a fun weekend with Cats everywhere and speed humps (mono-slugs) all parked in the yard <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

Hi Simon,

so different divisions of cats will be sailing different courses. Do you know how the overall Victorian Cat Champ is going to be determined?

Gary! Did you have to ask?

Ok. The Mozzies with spinnaker will sail windward-leeward courses... except for Gary, who will sail triangles with the Taipans <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

Should be a great event. Everyone gets to sail the course they like (mostly).

You know me Tim allways like to know what is going on before I get there and it is not clear from the Notice of Race, it mentions

The Courses, Windward leeward and or Triangles

.

<img src="<>/confused.gif" alt="confused" title="confused" height="15" width="15" /> Are you saying that you can't sail in the Mossie Spinnaker States and be eligible for the Victorian Catamaran Championships? <img src="<>/confused.gif" alt="confused" title="confused" height="15" width="15" />

Well look at it this way. The Mozzies with spinnakers will be sailing windward-leeward courses, so unless all the other classes are happy to do the same, there will be different courses sailed.

The NoR doesn't mention that there will be an overall result, but if there is going to be an overall result (not really necessary but YV liked to have one in the past), the club will have to figure out a way - such as using the GPS co-ordinates of all the marks to work out how far all the classes have travelled and adjusting their time accordingly. Either way it's something for the club to deal with.

This weekend is the biggest cat regatta of the season for Victorians, and especially for Mosquitoes.

Mozzies without spinnakers can sail the Cat Champs along with Taipans, F18s and A-classes.
Mozzies with spinnakers will be having their annual Vic State Titles (just enter the Cat Champs for the Spinnaker States - there is no separate entry process).

It's all happening at McCrae, this weekend (19th & 20th). Briefing at mid-day Saturday.

Don't miss it <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />
