This is old news but I hadn't heard about what was happening in NSW. There is more here about YA which is relevant to all of us, so in case anyone else missed it, here it is.

YNSW restructure & National Model

YA has problems apparently (spent too much on olympic sailing maybe? <img src="<>/frown.gif" alt="frown" title="frown" height="15" width="15" /> ).
Anyone have any more up-to-date info?

I love the line....

'...has become 'less financially viable'....'

Is that a euphemism for having no money?

YQLD had similar problems with the banding idea as a lot of clubs rejected it and the revised fee structure etc.

I do not mind paying but would like to get a little more than some insurance and a pretty website for my subscriptions.

I must not be on the 'high performance' radar, will have to try harder.......

Guys,
I have tried to find out what is happening but I have had no mail or correspondence to the association so not sure, same as everyone else .... only what we read.
Mow I am home again for a little while (very little) I will chase them up and try to find out and then pass information to all the state associations.

until then,

All,

I have had conversation this afternoon with Yachting Australia and this is the basic detail as I understood it.
1 There was a

working party

put together last year to look at all issues regarding sailing, from this there have been no results and nothing is planned to happen.

2 YNSW is not moving from their Homebush offices

3 ALL associations, IF anything WAS to be changed will be consulted as per YA's consitution and all associations would be consulted and involved in the process.

4 All the minutes from the various committees are posted on the YA website for all the read. They encourage people to read them.

The bottom line from YA is that it is business as usual and nothing is changing for the foreseeable future.

That is the result of the conversation with them today.
