It's 2009 and time for a bump! Start making your accomodation and travel plans! If you are coming early for a few days let me know so I can take the time off work and sail with you.

Dave,

No charters that I'm aware of. You could contact Key Sailing and see if they might have one.

It's now less than a month to go for the MidWinters!

A double stack trailer is arriving from MI and sailing before the event starts for us on Friday. Who else is coming?? Send in your registration to Key Sailing and see me on site for your class dues! I will be setting up down from KS in the public parking area on Thursday morning.

See ya there!!

With the weather this time of year, please include a tiedown in your travel plans. There is a nice sturdy fence to tie off to and a tiedown on the other side of the boat will do the trick!

I found that putting the boat in between the posts and tying a trap line to each post worked pretty well. of course it doesn't allow much room to walk through though.

All Right!!!

Clocks go forward tonight and the MidWinters is only 2 weeks away!
Reminder; we start racing on Friday and the rest begin on Sat. I know of a few F17s that are arriving early to get in some sun and warm up! I will be collecting class dues on Thu and Friday morning before racing at 1pm.

See y'all in 2 weeks!!!

Bob, any F17ers coming down for our April race at GYC? The races will be held off the Gulfport Municipal beach, all spin boats will have one start. I would love to see some sick F17s racing with us.

You are all cordially invited. If anyone needs any local logistical help, contact me via PM.

Robi,

As you can tell, I like to keep the threads on topic. To answer your post and I can only answer for myself, I will not be coming down for that event.

All,

Brian Harrison will be racing Strategery since my knee isn't back yet. I'll make sure that he gives you his membership fee so he is legal...

Robi, what are the dates in April that you are having events. Pretty sure I'm going to be itching to race once I get the clearance from the doc...

All,

The racing was really fun to watch on the water yesterday. I could have sworn there were 12 boats on the line, but I may be off by one.

Conditions were shifty, with some pretty inconsistent payoffs on the left and right side of the course. Locals expected the seabreeze to come in, but it never really materialized in a consistent fashion.

The courses were consistent 6 leg races, with the first one taking 30 minutes and the course being lengthened to make the runs a bit longer on races 2 and 3.

First race was fairly tame in light air, with big shifty puffs. Breeze built in 2 and 3, and is expected to be similar today. Race 2 had some good action, and while I can't be there today, here's a link to a video from yesterdays Race 2. Enjoy.
