[#7974]

I have two long battens that came with the G-Cat 5.7 main that fit on the bottom slot.

One is standard (like the others) 1" width and the other is about 2" width.

Which is the preferred Batten width for the bottom batten on this boomless Main?

This is a Supersail standard OEM sail for a 28' mast.

Thanks!

Not much of an answer to your question but my Supersails 5.7 main has all same size battens, that’s how it came from them

Not sure if this relates, but the Nacra 6.0 uses a heavier bottom batten in heavy air and is also boomless. With
the large jib in heavy air the main gets back winded and partially inverts. They call this the main sail Hula. The heavier batten is supposed to minimize this.

A heavier batten all the time or just in heavy air? Are they swapping them out?

When I had my 6.0 we would swap it. Not sure what others are doing but it is sold for heavy air use. I think it
would effect sail shape in lighter air.

I've used them both in a 5.7 and can't tell any difference.
