I'm looking at a 16' Prindle to buy. The owner said that the mast was broken and he was having it repaired. The welder assured him it would be as good as new. Does he know what he's talking about or not?

I'm no expert but I imagine it depends on what is broke, but I wouldn't buy it without inspecting it and maybe having someone who knows look at it. Also I think welding Aluminum is not the easiest thing but again I'm no welder. A guy up the street from my had a P16 he was doing ungodly things to and had a mast he was not using but I don't know if it is still there. I also have a set of Standing rigging and 2 double trap lines for a p16 I might be interested in selling.
