What inspired that. I know a few people were trying to get it reopened and ran into road blocks. I was going to try to tackle that when I had more time at the end of the year.

What kind of boat do you sail?

I have a Prindle18, also a 18' sailing dory and the kids a 10' sailing dingy, so we really missed that spot.

They told me it was a mistake that it was closed and it took this long to get permits and leases signed with the state , county and Riveria beach.
Alot of people were complaining and I was in contact with the county alot, I was getting scared they were just saying were working on it and never really doing anything, but we're all real happy it's finally opened again.
We won't be using it for a while as we are heading up to St.Augustine for the next few week-ends, but we went down there last night just to look at the open gate.

My first boat was a P-16 that was great for single handing. A couple of friends of mine have had P-18's. I did a lot of sailing on them. I now have a SC-20, let me know when you go out again and I will look for you. What color is your boat/sails.

We used to have a lot of cats around Singer Island but most of those guy's got married and moved their boats to Jupiter.

I am going to help a Mike Shapell put a spinaker on his boat on Saturday the 31. I was wondering where we were going to put it in.

Where is this place in relationship to Ft. Laudersale? Is there a beach? Is it ocean front?

Hi, do a search on this address;
Phil Foster Memorial Park, 900 E. Blue Heron Blvd, Riviera Beach

Blue Heron has an exit off of 95, go east to the bridge, at the foot of the bridge take a left into the park, the sailboat launch area is under the bridge at the west end of the park.
The setup is in the shade which makes it nice.
This is in the intracoastal but an easy sail to the inlet, once Peanut Island fully opens again the west and south side is a good place to stop, the north and east are shallow and crowded. Watch for the big sand bar north of the island, depending on the tides it is also possible to stop there.
