Don't the NAF-18s and the F-20s in Europe just have a small logo on the hulls? Do we need something on the sail?

My vote's a small #8 on the hull - leave the sail for the manufacturer or sail loft or sponsors if you have one...

The rules only require a small identifying logo near the clew of the mainsail and a measurement sticker near the beam on the inside of the hull. Most builder don't put F18 or F20 logo's on hulls or sails and often only use their own brand logo in the high part of the sail.

The two stickers are supplied with a valid measurement form.

Hey Tracie -

Am I crazy? I swear I remember the NAF-18 sticker being on everyone's stern, not on the sail...

You are not crazy.
The NAF18 stickers are affixed to the hull near the stern. I might also add that they are in color.
No logos on sails, just a stamp for certification is on the sails.

It makes a LOT more sense to put it on the hull -- especially since some people may have several different sails.

Maybe we can affix a 4x6" sticker to the sails at 24" up from the clew and 18" in from the leech? Some of our hulls are pretty small in the stern. I'm going to put a full logo on the sail up high for all to see!

With Tracie's 3 logos, I like the one with the purple swoosh!

Jake, what would be the best size for that one around the 4x6 size. And of course, a much larger one for a big sail logo?

another idea here.
there doesn't seem to be a rule of where to put a class insignia, or if there has to be one at all.
a good logo should still look good in 1 color though.
this one is proly too complicated, but i like the idea of 2 bars.

Bob, if the one you are talking about with the "swoosh" is #4 in that group of Tracy's on the previous page, that's the one I like, too. The reason is that it can be used all black or all some other color or parts of it different colors. A lot more flexibility since nothing is overlapping anything else. Also makes it easier to read from a distance.

Mary,

That's the one. It will be the last one on the page I posted with all three logos on it.
That one is okay too for reason you stated.

I'll be so excited if my design gets used for the class! I might have to learn to sail on a F14.

Okay, I finally found the page with the three. I was looking for an attachment or an in-line and I didn't notice the link to the logos. Couldn't figure out what three logos people were talking about.

For the benefit of dense people like me, I hope the choices are going to be made more clear before a vote is taken.

We could have an "official" F14 logo for the hulls, and allow whatever we want on the sails...

Not the best idea but still an idea.

Be nice if it was the same, just a small one and a larger one.
If it gets too big it won't fit on my tiny little sail.

How about something pretty simple? I'm sure someone could draw it with a better font, but I have to use MS Paint. See attached

You just wait.
You're going to walk down to the beach one summer afternoon and find your boat plastered with pink-frilly-girly stickers.
Power Puff girls and everything.

Bob - Glad that was a joke 'cause I don't know if I would be able to pull it off!
