You remember what cars were like in the late 70s and early 80s? They were big....damn big and pricey too (for the time). There were sport cars like Porsches and such and then Nissan and Mazda developed simple no frill sports cars with the 260z and the RX-7. They put a lot of thought into the elements like body shape, suspension geometry, driver feel, and weight balance but there wasn't a whole lot of extra horsepower or powered options. These little cars were sexy, well mannered, responsive, and most importantly they were affordable and manageable by regular people. They also sold like crazy.

This is what you guys are creating here. A boat class that's easily manageable, simple, and affordable in a world of bigger, badder, and expensive boats.

Jake, that would be Datsun in 1970 with the 240z, the only real z-car. The 260,280,300s were fluffed up with the frills and $$$.

true that... but they really became popular when there was a little competition (I'm an RX-7 fan and multiple time owner).

Actually...that's supposed to be "HHHHHMmmmmmmmm"

(I put myself through the last two years of college by rebuilding/repairing Mazda rotary engines in a rented garage).
