Noticed this weekend that with no sails up the bridle wires were somewhat slack, even with the cat on beach wheels with the bows up. The psudo bridles were tied loose. The tension appeared to be mostly on the pole at the bottom of the pelican striker. With the sail up and sheeted the wires appeared to be tight. The discussion came up about changing to a slightly shorter shackely to see if this would change anything. Anyone have any thoughts on this.

thanks

Isn't this indicating a need for tightening at the sidestays? A loose forestay would allow the prebend to come out of the spinnaker pole, slackening the bridle wires. Or so it seems.

I would tighten the shrouds to get rid of the slackness of the bridle wires.
Can someone measure the bridle wire length for me?
Bored and got 1/8 spectra sitting around <img src=
