Call for F16 video footage
We (west coast F16 sailors) are putting together an F16 promotional video. Anyone with F16 video footage, please let me or John Metzig know. We want footage of a variety of boats on the video--Taipans, Stealth, Blades, Mossies, one-offs, etc. It would also be great if the tape had footage from differant parts of the world. The video aims to be primarily action, but brief on the beach interview-type commentary could be submitted also and would add variety. Close-ups of various boats would also be useful. If we can get the right footage, it will be put together professionally, with music etc.
We'll be filming on Labor Day at Huntington Lake, so any F16s are welcome to come be filmed. Or, get some footage at your local pond/shore and send or email it!!!
Hi ejpoulsen,
I have seen some good video footage of the Blade on a disc Tim gave me, no doubt Phil Brander the designer would have the original copy. What I saw was not very long but it was fairly close and showed good speed under spinnaker hull flying etc.
Regards Gary.
Hi Eric,
Been away from the forum a while, trying to get some work done for a change !
Please let me know what format would be suitable, I`m assuming digital is ok ? I`m no expert on technology, so please give me an idea.
We`ll be racing at the end of the month, perhaps I can get some footage then, if it stops raining (Cape Town winters can get depressing).
Good sailing to all,
Steve
Steve,
Mossie F16 footage from S.A. would be awesome. I think digital format will be easiest to work with, but VHS can be converted. We'll take whatever we can get an convert as needed.
So far it looks like we'll have footage of Taipans, Blade, Mossie, Nacra F16 one-off, and possibly a new Isotope F16. I'm hoping Stealth can provide some footage too. I'm hoping the finished product can offer variety in terms of boats and locations.
I'll look forward to hearing from you when it stops raining and you get some footage.

Eric,
This was posted on the main forum, but the Spitfire class group in the UK has some pretty cool video posted. You may be able to get some of it to add to a F16 promo. www.spitfiresailing.org.uk
Also check out the 1design.net site. There is a link to Rocklege Engineering that is putting some great sailing CDs togehter. Most of the stuff is I20 and 6.0 from the Tybee races etc, but there should he should have some footage on some Taipans as well.
