As part of PR for the class, we need some serious representation in France soon. MarkP and others talked about going to Carnac with their boats. How many are still serious about going to Carnac and the Eurocat event? It's from 30. april to 4 of may.

If you are going, prepare for some questions from PR and having a small piece done both before you go and afterwards.. <img src=

I sure hope as many as possible go there, as we need some exposure in France to grow the class there. Any hope of you going Hans, as reigning champion.

Hi Rolf,
Kathleen and me will be attending also.
If you want any help on other initiatives, let me know.
I also try to be a little active on the French Cat Forum. In my best French I try to represent the class together with Tom (in fire).
I think the European manufacturers selling F16 should seriously consider a French section on their site about the F16, because most of the French only speak French....
Maybe all the Carnac sailors could order the F16 logo from Robi. (He can send them to 1 adress and we put them on in Carnac).
Kathleen and I will be going to Florida somewhere in March, so maybe we can take them with us.
Regards,
Gill
Right, if that is the case and we want to grow in those countries, we should make a subset of information available on our website in french and spanish. I'll get on to that and check the best way of doing it. What I have in mind is static information about the class, boats, rules etc. as doing it all would be very resource intensive.

I'm planning to go too. I've not been before - what's the format of the races? Ann could only come on the Saturday and Sunday, so I'm wondering if we could get away with sailing 1-up Thursday/Friday and 2-up Saturday/Sunday? Probably not an option if it's an open handicap series.

In the 70s and 80s when I took part in the Condor and later in the T, it was a typical cat regatta with 5 or 6 starts with several classes having their own series and/or starts and a couple of menagerie classses. I doubt that it'll have changed much except for less boats taking part!
According to the SIs, 20 boats would make a class, although it would probably not result in entitlement to a separate start. Therefore the F16s would have to race in the C1 handicap fleet and additionally choose whether to buoy race or do the long distance races as per the programme.
