The ISAF organisation identifies two types of ISAF status :

-1- ISAF recognized status
-2- ISAF international status

There are different requirements for both variants.

For variant -1- a summary of the requirements are :

- Having at least 4 member National Authorities OR 3 member national Authorities spanning at least 2 continents. (Formula 16 class is currenty building 4 national authorities on three continents. USA, Australia, UK, NL)

- Having at least 20 boats per country ( UK and Australia Yes, USA almost there and NL needs to work on this)

- Having at least 100 boats world wide. (not something we can not reach within 1 or 2 years of growth we are already past the 50)

For variant -2- a summary of the requirements are :

- Having at least 6 member National Authorities spanning at least 3 continents. (Formula 16 class is currenty building 4 national authorities on three continents. USA, Australia, UK, NL)

- Having at least 20 boats per country

Than there are some other requirements like having an active class and other general requirements.

When these requirements are met than you are allowed to transfer a whole lot of money to the ISAF organisation but that is something that needs to be considered at a later time.

For now it is quite obvious that the Formula 16 class is going a long way in meeting those requirements. We are also quite clearly not there yet, but it is already a considerable achievement that we have the potential in meeting those requirements in the foreseable future.

Regards,

Formula 16 class

Looks good... BUT do we really want/need "international" status? From what I see if "we" get "international" status we sell out to the ISAF committees..

As for growth.. Sailing now as one of the "open" F16 boats.. Im sure there is a market for the F16 worldwide.. (unless the F18HTs start providing a solo F18ht or would that be A class + kite?)
