Are the not legal because they don't come out the top?

Part D is what I'm curious about. There's two statements there.

The first rules them out explicitly, the second implicitly.

If one had a straight board that bent enough without breaking you would have a curved board?

If it has a

bend

is it then not

straight

?

BEND [bend]
verb (used with object)
1. to force (an object, especially a long or thin one) from a straight form into a curved or angular one, or from a curved or angular form into some different form: to bend an iron rod into a hoop.

STRAIGHT [streyt]
1. without a bend, angle, or curve; not curved; direct: a straight path.

Something that can be done is getting a straight board with a smaller 45 degree tip down a cassette box if the cassette box is setup like the modern adjustible A Class style, with the addition of a small flap on the inside of the hull. A 12 degree incline + say 45 degrees gives very nearly the optimal board shape. Is the additional small end piece ( the bit that gives the vertical lift ) an end fence, not in my book.

I hope they leave this get out clause in there for future experiment with what is effectively L boards.

To rephrase, use a low mudulus material than that bends easily, and stays in the elastic zone to preclude a permanent curve/bend.
