good to hear from you. I am afraid no chance I will make it, the Victorian Catamaran Champs are on that weekend at McCrae Y.C.

Kurnell's Top Gun regatta is also on the same weekend. I've also heard a rumour there's a regatta in the ACT that weekend as well.

What's wrong with everyone? From Oct through to Christmas is available, and all the regattas are on the same weekend.

I guess it's saves on greenhouse gas emissions to stop people travelling to regattas like this, but it would be nice to have a choice. Maybe the clubs are trying to keep the numbers down (I don't think).

I think Yachting Australia (and state authorities) should be more pro-active in helping to avoid this kind of thing.

Don't get me started on YA and the member state authorities! There is a big change coming here in QLD, YQ dramatically increasing fees and not collecting through the yacht clubs. Apparently the clubs have been kicking up a stink about YQ and its lack of purpose so they stopped forwarding the collected fees. It was a real concern that we were not covered by the YA insurance for a few months.

Anyway, I just put it out there incase there were locals who hadn't been informed. The announcement date seemed very late, although it is an annual event. For those that can make it, see you there. Hopefully the conditions are good for all the regattas around Oz that weekend. Could do with some flat water up here, last weekend nearly sent me crazy with the chop upwind!

Cat challenge is a great regatta. Its queensland premier cat regatta. It can easily boast better facilities and a better sailing venue than any regatta ive been to in Oz. Its been the same weekend for ever!!!! If its the same weekend as regattas in mexico then its your own stupid fault.

Seriously you Mexicans should bring your F16s up and show case them to the cat sailors in Queensland. Most of them would not know what one was.

Ill definitly see you there ncik. Ill be very dissapointed if there are no f16s next year.

Aido,

Still enjoying the cold Dutch weather? Or are you planning on returning to a better climate?

Funnily enough we timed our return so we had 3 weeks to prepare for the most important regatta of the year. CAT CHALLENGE at lake cootharaba. And im not joking.

Congrats on your great result in the club champs. Wish we could have been there to sink a few jars afterwards.

Cheers

See you there Aido. I'll be the white

bitsa

F16, square-head mozzie rig and beams on F16 hulls. Handicap results will be useless, hopefully they don't run me off the F16 rating.
