Geert flew in from Holland last night and we are packing up the old Taipan for the long haul starting tomorrow. I just heard Rick's son broke his port tiller arm and may need to borrow one for the F 16HP Nats in the Keys? If anyone has one they would loan Dave we would appreciate it. I could transport down there from Tampa.
Also- Mike- Can I get directions to the club where the boats will be kept and can we drop the boat/trailer off there?
TIA-
See ya all soon!

Kirt,
Not to step on Michael's toes, but I thought I'd jump in and get directions to you asap in case he takes longer to catch your post.
Directions to Gulfport Yacht Club are:
From I-75 South in Florida, take I-275 thru Tampa to
St. Petersburg. Follow I-275 thru St.Petersburg to
22nd Ave South (there is an exit for 22nd Ave North also, so go on to 22nd Ave South).
Exit and go West..(right turn) on 22nd Ave South to
49th St. South. Turn Left on 49th St South to
Del Rio Way (there is a Lion's Club sign here).
At the stop sign, take an immediate right into the
Gulfport Yacht Club.

We look forward to seeing you and all the other racers and crews this weekend.

Yes, you can drop your boat and trailer at GYC. There should be someone there Friday afternoon and evening to assist in unloading, etc., assuming you don't arrive in the middle of the night.
For your info the phone number of the club is: 727.321.8364
Have a safe trip.

Apparently Australia cannot get one here in time for the regatta this weekend, but should before the F16HP Nationals . Until then I hope someone has one I can borrow.

[color] Thanks for the help
Rick

I have a spare, BUT it matches my sq. tubular alum. rudder casting - I'll have to check this against Mike's or John's newer cast-alum. casting, to see if it matches... unless your casting itself is made of the same square alum. tubing as the rudder arm, in which case I know it fits, and you're welcome to my spare. I'm sure we can figure something out, though.
Let me know which it is.
See you guys this weekend

Good luck guys, may the most poisonious snake win !

Be sure to remember the event ; then we can make a nice page of it just like with the Springfever regatta.

It is square tubing that fits into asquare casting. If that works, great!
Will you be in St Pete?
Meanwhile, I am ordering a new one, so perhaps I could just have it sent to you and I will pay you rent for this one meantime.
Thanks,
Rick

No guarantees, but if your castings are made of the same material as the square tubing, it should fit. You're welcome to borrow it, or keep it and send me the new one, or give it back at Tradewinds. Anything to get another boat there (especially you guys)
Anyway, if it doesn't fit, I have some round tubing, a rivet gun, and a blowtorch
See you this weekend,
Michael Coffman
P.S.
email me at fastcatmichael@hotmail.com, and I'll give you my # so you can pick it up when you get in town. I live down the street from the club, so any time is o.k.
