I am 1000miles away from my boat. Help? Trap line length on the Blade and shroud length (just to the top of the staymaster fitting). Need to make new trap lines and am going to go synthetic for the shrouds (mainly to get rid of the cheese grater stay masters)
From experiance, don't waste your time making synthetic shrouds ( trap lines are great in synthetic ), on paper they should be just the best thing since sliced bread, light, easy to make and you can go down a size, in the real world you get fed up taking up the constant slack from the creep. It does stabilise after a while but it is a long while.
I know what you mean. a friend went through the same thing. The tension on our shrouds though is somewhat of a relative thing anyway though since our masts are so flexible. The leeward shroud is always slack anyway.... though i suspect I too will surrender in the end and go back to SS
