Hobie Sold To Bass Pro Shops!
Anyone got any inside information? Will they keep making catamarans? I'm worried Bass Pro just wants the Mirage Drive kayaks and SUP's plus the clothing brand.
Bass Pro Shops, through its White River Marine Group, officially acquired the watercraft brand Hobie, bringing production back to the United States. The acquisition, announced on September 24, 2025, will move Hobie's operations from Mexico to Lebanon, Missouri, near Bass Pro Shops' headquarters. This strategic move aims to combine the expertise of Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris and Hobie Alter, while also reinforcing Missouri's outdoor recreation industry.

@westm
att Agree. But the worst is when private equity firms get a hold of a beloved brand. Hopefully that is not what is going on here. My main concern is what will Bass Pro and their parent company do with the Sailboat lines.
It would be cool if they would actually promote them. I could see the Bravo, Wave, and Getaway on the sales floor beside the Bass Boats and Side-by-Sides There was a time when Sears sold small sailboats in their retail stores.
I can dream can't I?

I had forgotten that they turned the old Pyramid into a Bass Pro. Saw some really good concerts there!
Hobie Cat's website has been down the last couple of days. Cloudflare says it is Hobie's fault.
