I am send someone some sails and battens. The sails i can easily roll up without the battens and ship it in a box. The battens are the different story. The longest batten is around 10 feet long. Well talked to a shipping store and was told it would have to go freight and that would be a minimum of $150. Is this the only way really? Would really appreciated some help.

Thanks

There are two other threads on this forum about how to do it. Use the Search feature at the top of this forum. For words to search for, type in "Shipping sails." For date range, put "All posts."

I shipped a 13' 10" spin pole for my nacra 6.0 via southeastern freight lines for under $78, form Ohio to NC. Easy, took 2 days. Ask for dock to dock shipping prices, they save about $80 or so.
