[#21939]

And the joust between Macca and Wouter has caught a sudden sense of sensibility. Been nearly 24 hrs since there was an uneasy truce called.

Oh well, better go back sailing...

Actually, this is as good a thread as any for the Mods to tell us what isn't allowed?
What on and when they'll 'crack down' and what they'll do?
Will threads be locked or posts or (I hope not) threads deleted?
If we are going to be monitored can we know when and how 'appropriate' action will be taken?

I will act when Rolf and Phil demand it. <img src=

Personally, I think all of us should act by simply

shunning

whatever and whomever we, as individuals, deem inappropriate.

The ignore button, use it!

What Pete said and common sense. BTW: I am more than a wee bit humble over the trust Mary and Rick have in me. Dont want to let them or you down.

Sometimes splitting threads would be good, now the other thread is talking about windmills instead of the actual the other topic <img src=

I actually see a lot of symbolism in that thread and windmills with the direction it headed off in <img src=

Ouch! I was afraid of something like that. Why not more like the friendly man behind the bar serving drinks but sometimes having to calm things down? <img src=

I don't see any problem with that. Let the thread be dynamic and flow. No need for strict structure. You never know where the discussion could end up, but moving from Wayne's frustrations about internet muppets, to 3DL sails to windmills is a bit extreme though.

James,
I agree.
I don't see the moderators role as one that provides structure to discussions. This is a free environment and if people go off on a tangent that is up to them and others involved to pull it back to topic. Many times the tangent has been more interesting that the initial thread.

In saying this I'm not trying to encourage people to hijack threads just keep the discussions interesting, This is by far the best forum on the net. Lets keep it that way.
