Steaming Blade
Hi Folks
I hope all is well in your part of the world.
I have finally managed to get some time to steam the hulls.
Due to the fire restrictions here I had to take the legs off my 3 burner BBQ and place the 44 gallon drum, 1 third full on top of it to boil the water. It worked well but it took almost 2 hours to boil.
Both hulls are now staemed and sitting in their jigs.
I hope neither my wife and my self get flat tyres, because I have used the jacks out of both our cars to hold the transoms in place.
The steaming process although quite easy is slow and tedious. As one of the designers told me. " Because of the intricate design of the keel, we are taking, the steaming of tortured ply to a new level. "
It is quite scary watching it bend into shape. But now I have two hulls sitting side by side, it is not that hard to picture the finished product.
Next on the agenda is the bulk heads.
Thank you for taking an interest in my little project and I will keep you up dated with it's progress.
As a side note, I have purchassed my tickets to the Netherlands for the Dutch Coastal Challenge. I will be sailing a Blade, for what should be the 1st international F16 event.
I hope to meet some of you there.
Regards Tony Jenkins.

At this time I have made no arrangments to get back to Frankfurt.
But my plane departs at 10.10pm on the 16th.
Except for the racing parts of the challenge. I intend to treat the rest of it as one long party.
I thought I might throw in one more phote of the Blade in it's Jig. This time bow on.
Regards TJ
