I know of 2 Taipan 4.9's for sale in Aus. at very reasonable prices. If anyone in the U.S. is interested, please let me know. We have a really good opportunity right now.

I'm also very interested in buying a used Taipan from Aus. I'm located in the Annapolis, MD area. Have you guys done any research to find out what prices/shipping/taxes would be? Or how long the shipping would take. I'll send you my address etc. as well. Think the people at taipanamerica could help us out in any way? It's in their interest to have as many taipans in the US as possible.

Prices are Australian $ : ex. 14500 Aus$ = about 7800 US$
-1- Taipan #31 ($6500 + est. 500 transport). It's got new rudders, tramp, beam. Average sails, but not great. It has "mark I mast from 1996", so I assume it was originally a standard sloop.
-2- #32 is, according to Taipan website "Kevlar strengthened hulls and graphite foils. Specialist cat sail/ sloop sail and two jibs. Galvanised trailer, sail box , beach rollers and hull covers" When I spoke to him, the guy said that it was a 97.7 kilo boat with a "specialist cat mast, but not one of the over etched ones that break." The owner is getting too old to handle the boat.

hulls and carbon boards. A brand new set of goodall sails, a second jib ( a year old ) an ullman jib from germany. A brand new marcovitch tramp. A full ronstan fitout with spectra strings. The boat is on minimum weight. It performs great with a second at the nats, a first in the N.S.W states and was winning the Q.L.D states untill the pin was pulled. About a couple of the above boats:
1. #31 "Mark I mast from 1996", mark I means cat rig hence cat rig mast. Mast is not suitable for running as sloop and especially not suitable for running with a spinnaker.
4. Taipan #175 (Ready or Not) is sold. I bought that one sorry. A beautiful boat it is too.
