Last year at Tradewinds the F18 crowd had their Midwinter National?? championship.
RICK WHITE Clear said the F16 crowd can do the same if we chose to.
All we need to do is inform him of our intentions and he will get the flags to say F16 midwinters blah blah blah.
So we do it or what?
My vote goes to a YES.

Tradewinds is an already great yearly race.
Last year we had an excellent turnout for the F16 crowd.
All we have to do is get in touch with Rick or Mary and inform them of our intentions (I am willing to do this)

That would be cool. We will be a little on the heavy side, but its usually blowing dogs on this race, so it wont matter.

Bringing this back to life. I would really really really like to get some feedback. We need to let Rick White know ahead of time for this. I will do so unless told otherwise.
The 2007 NOR has Tradewinds listed as the F16 Midwinters (among numerous other sub-events). I do not think this is an official action of the USF16 class, but I am personally OK with it. I'll forward this on the US board for their comments.
I have forwarded communication to Rick/Mary to see if there is anything they expect from us as a class association perspective (supply race management personnel, trophies, etc.) - besides promoting attendance.
Having this regatta as the F16 Midwinters adds no extra expectations from the class association per Rick. Just promotion of the event and pre-registration, as awards are dependent on the number of boats.
