All F18 sailors should plan on coming to Sarasota for this event! It's going to be held October 19-26 and sailing will take place on the beautiful Sarasota Bay. The venue is the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, which is becoming a hub for competitive youth multihull sailing. On the weekend before the championship the Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous will be taking place at the same venue, October 18-20. This will be a great event to get used to the bay waters and to get your boats tuned up and ready to go for the championship. These are two events that should definitely be marked on your calenders!

If you need a boat to sail at these events contact me as I currently have an F18 Infusion MK2 for sale. Depending on what happens in the next month or two it may be set for sale before the championship or after. Links to ads for the boat will be placed below.

The championship has a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/2013F18AmericasChampionship

Here's some info on last year's Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous. I am not sure if they have information about this year's regatta posted yet: http://wp.buzzellimr.com/ and http://www.regattanetwork.com/event/6417#_registration

somebody let Capt. Hiram know to not schedule the Haul that same weekend....

Wouldn't it be great to get both events in?

The NWF18 fleet will have good representation at the America's regatta. Recently completed a 6 stack flatbed to bring the boats down. At least 6 confirmed participants, maybe 7 or 8.

Don't forget your measurement cert needs to be complete and up to date when you register. Please make every effort to get your boat measured before you arive. Do NOT ASSUME you can get your boat measured at the event.

Dave who is doing measurements and registrations at the event? I have made every effort to get the boat measured prior to Nationals but a late summer nor'easter interrupted, we completed about half the paperwork.

Sam, I have only recently thrown my name in the hat so the details are in flux. I may or may not be taking point on this activity. With that said and after reading your private message it sounds like you have the hard part done. I am not concerned about platform weight and the weights of the loose bits we can easily do that onsite as part or your routine and required weigh in. What I don't want to see is new boats that have been in the hands of their owners for a while and no effort has been made to get the boat and sails measured.

Keep in mind most if not all the volunteers running the weigh station and measuring boats are also sailing the event and we ALL want as much time on the water as you do. So, be kind do the needful and it will be great time for everyone.

If you don't have a copy of your cert and you know your boat has been measured chop chop b!tches, find your cert! I will probably be back filling Ela's slot as chief measurer and can probably help if your cert is in the fleet repository. My contact info is in my profile.

Thanks Dave Rick is getting the class our paperwork, it'll just be platform weight needed and the measurement cert issued.

On the note of weight just a reminder if you might need lead be sure to bring it with you, dive shops sell out fast.

I believe there will be measuring on site before the regatta. Also right now there's 38 boats on the registration list!

Ravi,

Unless you have confirmation with a name attached from the event organizers and/or the class please don't tell people there will be people measuring boats on site.

Any chance I show up at the event with my boat measured (and fees paid) but without a certificate (boat has never had one) - and have a problem? Not getting anywhere with this process...

If your boat is measured and the fees are paid what is the issue with the cert? If you're just having an issue getting it signed send it to me I'll sign it for you.
