If you own a 2010 C2 be sure you get the shroud anchor plate (where the shroud pins into the boat) upgrade. The original equipment is prone to failure and it will be much easier to upgrade before something breaks.

Nothing like having proactive support.

It's actually just the pin/eye-bolt that the Sta-Masters bolt to, that thread into the hull. There were some failures of the originals, and the replacements are just a bit larger.

It's also important to have them pointed at the mast.

I had a factory rep show up from Australia to do mine a few months ago. Stellar support <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

As a former dealer, I took care of the California boats - the factory supplied the parts and wrote an excellent service bulletin. Piece of cake.

Trying to be proactive on my new to me C-2.
Are there any other issues that may need to be dealt with? I know one boat had a trap fairlead screw that pierced the trunk and let some water in.

Inspect and replace the dyneema portion of the Cunningham system it rubs on the rotation arm when rotation limiter is released. Also keep after the Dyneema spin pole bridles. Other than that it's just normal maintance. Besides if anything goes wrong you can always blame Ricky he sold you the boat and is a rep (a twofr), just make sure you do it publicly so we all can enjoy the moment.

Publicly? How else would I do it?

Come on now Jay, everyone knows that a good sailor always has a plan B ready to go. When it looks like you're about to take a thorough thrashing you pull out the old

I had to catch a flight excuse

. Gotta give the boy props for planning ahead.
